This majestic insect is stitched in tubular and diagonal (a variation on the Russian leaves) peyote stitch. Increases and decreases strategically placed give the butterfly body, its shape. The wings are stitched separately and attached to the body. With a little creativity students will be able to design their own coloring and patterning and create this way a whole collection of these beautiful creatures
