Description: "I would like to adorn the necks of all the women of the world with pearls." Kokichi Mikimoto

Shinju necklace (Japanese for ‘pearl’) was inspired by a wondrous trip to Japan. The esthetics, culture and beauty of Japan are remarkable. This necklace is a humble tribute made in Japanese seed beads. It incorporates tubular peyote to make three stiff and hollow structural beaded balls (pearls). The pearls are suspended by a strap of sculpturally curled herringbone, which transitions into a spiraling section of netting.

Students must be proficient with tubular even count peyote.
