Iside (Isis in Italian) Pendant is inspired
by the headdress found on any of the frescoes and statuary
from antiquity. There was a temple dedicated to Isis in the
city of Pompeii and a famous fresco that depicts worship of
the goddess in that city. Components are made with peyote
stitch combined with right angle weave using cylinder beads
and size 15 seed beads. Freshwater pearls are then bezeled
with peyote and components are combined to form the pendant.
Note: The pendant in the photo is shown on a chain made with
Viking Knit. This technique will not be covered in the
workshop however; the instructions will include a seed bead
chain for the pendant. |
